Compassionate Comfort Care is a women-owned and Indigenous-owned company based in Greenville, South Carolina. There are three of us at the center of it, and you'll meet all three.
Meet the owner
Thirty-five years of looking after people.
Zeena LaBrecque has spent more than 35 years in the medical field. She grew up in Connecticut and has called South Carolina home for 15 years, which is where the northern work ethic and the southern compassion both come from.
Her background runs from high-stress emergency care to the quiet, tender work of sitting with someone at the end of life. She has cared for many members of her own family, so she knows the weight families carry, and she advocates fiercely for every client she serves.
She's known for her patience, her reliability, and her love for people and animals alike. She still answers every message herself.
Zeena is a certified end-of-life doula, a dementia care specialist for Alzheimer's, vascular, and frontal-lobe dementia, and certified in medication management. She still does hands-on care, and she still answers every message herself.

Adrianne Alverson
Caregiver, medication technician, and human resources
Adrianne cares for clients, gives medications as a certified medication technician, and handles hiring. Every caregiver who works with us has sat across a table from her first.
Zoie Poole
Caregiver and office manager
Zoie cares for clients and runs the office: schedules, invoices, and paperwork. She's the one to email when you need a copy of something, and she also gives in-home haircuts for clients who'd rather skip the trip to a salon.

Morale, greetings, and nap supervision
Our four-legged colleague makes sure every visit meets his standards for comfort. Zeena's love for animals is part of the job, and if your loved one has a pet, they're part of our care plan too.

Part of the neighborhood
Most of our families find us the way you probably did: a friend from church, a nurse at the hospital, a neighbor whose mother we looked after.
We're glad to talk with anyone helping look after your loved one, whether that's a hospice nurse, the surgeon's office, your pastor, or the lady next door who checks in every morning. Good care takes a village, and we're happy to be part of yours.
