Questions families ask us
If yours isn't here, just ask. Zeena would rather answer a question than have you sit and wonder.
Stand By Me companionship is $23 to $25 an hour, Lean on Me care while healing is $25 to $28, and Final Care Support at the end of life is $30 to $35. Overnight and around-the-clock care are quoted for your schedule. You'll have every rate in writing before we start, and families who start with us keep their rate even as care changes.
Yes to Medicare. We have a National Provider Identifier and accept Medicare. We're working on Medicaid and VA benefits now, so ask, because that may have changed by the time you read this. Many families also pay privately, and if your loved one has a long-term care insurance policy, we'll help with the paperwork and send the invoices and care notes the insurer asks for.
Hospice sends a nurse, a doctor, and equipment, usually for a few visits a week. We're there for the hours in between, in the house with your loved one. Zeena is a certified death doula and works right alongside the hospice team.
Often within a few days of the home visit. If your loved one is coming home from the hospital or just started hospice, email us and we'll tell you honestly what we can do and when.
Tell us the hours you're thinking about and we'll build the schedule around them. There's no minimum number of days a week, and the schedule can change as needs change.
The same caregiver as often as we can manage it, because a familiar face matters, especially with dementia. Every caregiver is interviewed by Adrianne, background-checked, and introduced to you before their first shift.
We let you know right away, and we do our best to send someone you've already met. You're never billed for a shift we couldn't cover.
A couple of things families kept asking for. James Kent provides notary services on request, and Zoie Poole gives in-home haircuts for clients who'd rather not make the trip to a salon. Mention it when you write to us and we'll set it up.
Greenville, Pickens, Spartanburg, Anderson, Oconee, and Laurens counties. If you're just over a county line, ask. We'll tell you straight whether we can get to you.
